K-Tek® Announces New Zeppelin™ Fuzzy Windscreen/Shock Mount
M. Klemme Technology Corp., maker of K-Tek® professional boom poles, introduces the Zeppelin™ Fuzzy. The first one-piece windscreen/shock mount system, the Zeppelin Fuzzy offers the simplest and most convenient solution for wind noise reduction and microphone protection at an affordable price. The K-Tek Zeppelin Fuzzy windscreen features a layer of high-density open cell foam bonded to a body of reticulated foam. An outer layer of top-quality synthetic fur with a tough tight-weave fabric backing is permanently fitted over the foam structure. The shock mount component employs a specially formulated rubber holder attached to twin arms of machined anodized aluminum. Installation of the Zeppelin Fuzzy is quick and easy. The windscreen component slides smoothly over the head of the microphone. After the windscreen has been fitted, the user simply retracts the microphone to attach the shock mount’s rubber grip. Created to be “one size fits most,” this holder will accommodate microphones from 17 to 25mm in diameter. Once the microphone is firmly in place, the shock mount’s positive locking mechanism secures it in position. Lightweight and durable, the new K-Tek Zeppelin Fuzzy windscreen/shock mount is ideal for ENG and EFP production. The system is available in three models: Designed for shorter microphones (such as the Sanken CS-1), the Z-FZ-S weighs only 4.6 oz. (130.4g) and has an internal bore of 6 1/4”(15.9 cm) with a maximum practical port length of 5” (12.7 cm). The Z-FZ-M accommodates microphones such as the Sennheiser 415 and AT 4073. Weighing just 5.1 oz. (144.6g), it has an internal bore of 8 1/4” (21 cm) with a maximum practical port length of 7” (17.8 cm). For longer microphones (such as the Sennheiser ME-66), the Z-FZ-L weighs 5.7 oz. (161.6g) and features an internal bore of 11 1/2”(29.2 cm) with a maximum practical port length of 10 1/4” (26 cm).
